Wasn't there something about the KLF re-issuing them on the sly after the success of 3AM Eternal (the 'Live At the SSL' version)? In fact, some non-KLF nutters I knew at the time bought them thinking they were remixes of the SSL version, not the other way round! I bought PT1, PT2 and PT2R from various record shops in Chester during 1992 and all these came with the record in plastic inners. I bought a PT1R and a PT2R from a record shop in London (can't remember name, well known one near Notting Hill), both of which had stickers on the front (PT1R was never reissued right?) and both came with the records in paper inners. Personally, I would class them as reissues as there really is nothing (except for the missing sticker on PT2R) that tells them apart (believe me, I've scrutenised them enough) - the only telltale factor is the inner sleeve and, of course, this could easily be swapped. However I'd still be interested to find out if the '92 issues of Shag Times as well as the Pure Trance 12" 004T, 005T and 005R issued around this time are 'unofficial' bootlegs or KLF Comms reissues.
i have the pure trance reissues from 1992, and i'm fairly certain that they are either reissues, or leftovers that didn't sell first time round. probably reissues tho, cos my KLF005R doesn't have the 'orbital mixes' sticker on the front, which they all had on the first pressing. certainly KLF Communications were still actively trading at this time, because if i remember correctly, the reissues appeared a couple of months before the justified and ancient single was rudely stopped from reaching number one by the ghost of freddie mercury.
