i guess it was either 1992, or perhaps 1993 after they left the music business. it had pics from 'America WTIL' and the Brits anyway so I guess it was post-KLF

select also ran a superb feature around this time on the aborted Black Room album, with mention of the tracks '38' AKA 'Thirty-Eight' and 'The Black Room and Terminator Ten' (best unreleased track title ever), also including Bill's lyrics for '38'

I think the non-release of this album is my biggest kinda 'regret' that they gave it all up...i think it could have been their best project yet  =(

I have a light and dark 004T both say damont in the runout and both say 1988. And thanks for the info its all good.

I have a poster that has a lot of KLF stuff images on that could be edited into a wandaful cover for this CD project, can jpg's be sent as attatchments on this KLF mailing list, if so i could take a photo of the whole thing email it to ALL BOUND so you can all see if its worth scanning for the job.
I have reinstalled windows in the last couple of weeks (like you do) and have yet to find old scanner drivers or image editing s/ware, another job for another day.

some other small differences between the original issues of 004T, 005T and 005R and the 1991 reissues, which i own, are that the reissue sleeves opened at the top (i believe the originals were side-opening as i have 004R) and instead of white paper inner sleeves they have kinda translucent cellophane inner sleeves

also 004T is a different shade of green! but i forget which is darker/lighter...the original is sometimes described as 'apple green', i think my 1991 copy is a paler green

Shag Times was also reissued around this time, had similar plastic inner sleeves and the back of the cover had black print on a white background (same as the rest of the cover) instead of a large black panel taking the whole of the back, with white print for the original 1988 issue

I used to have 2 copies of KLF5T and the original and the bootleg of KLF8T.

KLF5T is definitely dated 1988 on the sleeve, as it was originally due for release on Hallowe'en 1988, but re-scheduled and put out in May 1989. All four KLF4T,R,5T,5R are all dated 1988 on the sleeve, despite that fact only the original issue of WTIL (KLF4T) actually appeared in 1988. Also, KLF4T, 5T and 5R were all reissued in July 1991. The only difference between the issues is that 5R didn't have a sticker in 1991. 4T and 5T were identical (apart from the inner white sleeves - original 1988/1989 issued tended to have the date written on the (11/88 etc.))

I'm not 100% sure about KLF8R (I can't remember the sleeve) but again its release date was put back, from 19th December 1988, to its eventual release in March 1990. KLF8T's release date was put back from 12 December 1988 to September 1989, and then dropped completely. The 1989 date sounds about right - especially as both it and "Chill Out" were released more or less on the cusp of the new decade.

Basically, don't worry. I'm sure both your items are legit, at least far as I can without seeing them. Oh, and check those inner sleeves!

On the web site it says 1990, 1 remix and the original. I dont have a record player anymore so i cannot listen to them.
