This isn't entirely off topic as there is a mention of the KLF on line number...well, let's see, it's approximately...erm.... Trust me...it's in there somewhere. ('OK Let it through. But there's better be a KLF mention.-ED) Thanks, Ed. But I for one have become much more enlightened. I am greedy for your work, Mr.Moorcock, but am going to start with a book about you instead. All best, M" There are loads of things in that 'Lost Vote' thing that you can pick up on. It's dense with references, as are the K MAILs in general. There's the bit where it says George Bush 'former star of The Simpsons and ZOO TV'. That's about the fact that George senior while doing battle with Clinton for the residency had said that he wanted America to be more like The Waltons than The Simpsons which later caused a brilliant episode of The Simpsons where George moves in across from Homer. Later George senior started getting calls live from the ZOO TV stage and Bono's alter-ego Macphisto, which led to Clinton phoning into a U2 radio interview, winning the backing of the band and the rest is history. There was then a follow-up from George senior who said something like 'When it comes to American foreign policy, I'll work with Boris Yeltsin and John Major ahile Senator Clinton talks to Boy George'. By the way, did anybody see Bozo on The Jonathan Ross show last week? It really was appalling when he tore his shirt open. And didn't he demand that somebody stand up in the audience? If that had been me sitting there I should have challenged the Christomaniac toa bare-knuckle fist-fight I can tell ya. Can't we crucify Bono? That Vertigo song was good for about ten seconds but everytime I pour out my cornflakes, there it is again with a free iPod. --- In xdollarx@yahoogroups.com, "Sarah Winters" <bishopbeesley@y...> wrote:

"Hi Michael. I'm an inveterate lurker but at a bookcrossing meet-up in Belfast, I finally met not one but several people who had read some Michael Moorcock! For about five years I've always drawn a blank over here. The most fascinating thing was the discussion that developed long after the other people had swapped their books and gone off to their hangover :) One of our quintet of enthusiasts had come across a strange phenomenon linking your work, that of other JC authors, especially Mr. M.John Harrison (the protagonist of whose new 'Light' book is central to the vortex and which I intend to buy after work today), something called X$X, the long-dead band called the KLF and several other threads I'm completely unfamiliar with. I do seem to recall something about this in passing a while back and it might have been here or on another forum. Anyway, I've just joined a Yahoo group which seems to revolve around this singularity. It might make interesting viewing for some of you: http://groups.yahoo.co.uk/group/xdollarx My initial take is that someone is actuating something quite magickal!! I won't ask if it's you but this is certainly some kind of extension of some of your ideas (and of others) into a strange new realm. I look forward to getting hold of Firing the Cathedral in some form soon. So far drawn an absolute blank even though it's listed as still available through waterstones here. I order and it never arrives. So I order again and it never arrives. :( Catherine (Robinson)"
On October 13, 2003 Michael Moorcock replies,
"Well, extension was what it was always about. I published the original JC stories, especially in NW, with the intention of others picking up the notions and running with them. This has been happening for a while now. With Harrison, for instance, I picked up early on his character Shaky Mo Collier and certain other themes. Harrison has spent the last twenty years or so disassociating himself from all that, for reasons best known to himself, but it was fun and continues to be fun with other writers, including some of those in comics. I am enjoying, for instance, working out a Tom Strong story for Alan Moore's sequence while Alan will be using JC cameos in his new League story. Much better if this is done consciously, I think -- that is, accepting the ongoing influences many of us have on one another and enjoying it. The same happens, for instance, with Iain Sinclair, who is Taffy Sinclair in my Metatemporal Detective stories, while he has happily semi-fictionalised me in some of his work. My experience is that solid sf buffs aren't that keen on JC. He's always been more acceptable to those on the edges, as it were. Of course, the edges continue to move away from us, once we've stood on them for a while. The fun is finding new ones. I think the limited edition of Firing the Cathedral is pretty much out of print, but Cities edited by Peter Crowther contains it and my own new Lives and Times of Jerry Cornelius has my latest version of that and some of the other recent JC stories, such as Cheering for the Rockets. Thanks for writing Catherine. And try to stay out of the cold cabinet now the heatwave's over... All very best, M"
Well there you go. I think that X$X and the search for the lost vote is hilarious, especially where it mentions Broccoli. You see George W used to hate it when his mom gave him broccoli and forced him to eat it all up like a good boy. I think his dad hated it too. Which gives me an idea. I want to start a campaign to replace suicide bombing in Iraq with shipments of broccoli to the White House. It may be that it's more effective.
Sorry..are we *allowed* to make jokes about American foreign policy yet?
Not that I care much, if I'm honest. All that matters to me is that it's chrimbo which means at least twice the amount of chocolate that I get at Easter.
Mmmm...choclate

URLs...a good suggestion. Obviously those two you got in there.. www.xdollarx.com and www.internovel.org.uk
Without a thorough check, I can add www.xdollarx.org which was active in the late c20th. The others I really can't think of just now. There was definitely a few Kathedral addresses kathedral.org and kathedral.com if I'm not mistaken. The rest I'll have to check on.
I agree though. Let's track some more shit down:-)

Apparently official.
"George Bush" and 'unknown particulars' in Nixon 'attempt'.
The father of President Bush has 'come' clean about his 'involvement' with a bunch of libertarian 'archonanists' in Florida during the so-called 'Summer of Campus Crime' in the late sixties and early eighties. The former star of The Simpsons and ZOO TV allowed himself to be 'shown' emails '...likely to change the future of white rip-off hip-hop in the 'near present'....', according to an unnamed 'source'. The keen gofer admitted that he was 'enthralled at each thrilling new revolution' and was later seen braindishing a copy of 'The Politics of Ecstasy' by cyber-guru and former Harvard 'professor', Dr. Timothy Leary before sitting down to a chat-room about the forthcoming 'Archonanists' Glossary' which is 'planned by' XACT Publishing in the UK. Leaving 'aside' George's many jokes about popstars in the toilets at his local golfing emporium, Bush would often mull over a bowl of broccoli given to him by his mother, "the late late Mrs. Bush". Meanwhile "Mrs. Bush", who bears a striking similarity to other contemporary mothers-of-the-american-revolution including that of the president-eleKt, "George Bush", has been thinking about whether to opt for some of those new 'Linda McCartneys' that certain 'friends' of hers have been 'raving about'. The ex-wings star is now selling her produce in the US with results that have been described by outsiders as 'like Karoli pies in Helsinki'.
Meanwhile, 'Jerry Cornelius', who buzzed up several US media 'giants' when he set off to find his 'author', the great Michael Morrcock, author of tomes such as 'New Worlds' and "The Retreat from Liberty" in the late sixties and early eighties. Cornelius, a 'name' that's 'fixed' but those 'using it' aren't has been interviewed in the so-called 'Kalifornia' issue of Kathedral by an ex-pool player who now has '...an mp3 tooth plugged directly into his Apple Mac when at home..' Hapless former warehouseman and brother of antiques dealer and property owner, Frank, Cornelius is revising some editions of his earlier 'books' for a pre-XMAS launch exclusively through the X$X site at http://www.xdollarx.com. Pre-promotion has already started at http://www.internovel.org.uk while, in a third day of kount kount kount, several US lawyers are reported to be 'intellihanced' by the workload offered in the current 'selecta krisis' at the polls.
