As far as KLF8T is concerned - didn't Erik Gander say he had (or at least had heard) a copy once? Unlike Love Trance, we have definite proof in KLF promo sheets that the original Last Train is unreleased, but recorded. The muddied waters between "Go To Sleep" and "E-Train" (with a side-order of "Go to Sleeeeeeee-train-eeeep") makes it all the more intriguing. Personally, I still think the wee snippets of an unreleased "Last Train" mix on the White Room movie real-time soundtrack are parts of the "original" track.
From my own clandestine meetings, about a year ago I met a Scottish plugger for Rough Trade (1988 to around 1991) who was buying one of my CDs off Ebay (he lives locally, so I met him in a pub in Irvine) ... He said he had been heavily involved in the promotional side of the KLF in 1989 (Bill Drummond was a genius, he claimed, although he seemed to know Sallie more). When KSTJ stiffed, Drummond was apparently absolutely distraught - and a fine masterplan of pop promotion for the rest of that year came crashing down when "nobody bought the fucking the record". There were apparently BIG plans afoot, and Radio One's lack of airplay ruined them (although arguably KSTJ is B&J's weakest ever track anyway). Actually, I sometimes think that cancelling the White Room soundtrack was just a massive huff on Bill's part (no input from Jimmy on the promotions side, according to my plugger mate). Maybe the stiffing of the "Pure Trance" series was a similar thing from Jimmy? By autumn 1989, most people were just beginning to get into KLF4T and KL5T (following shameless repromotions and repackagings of both) - and who would want to listen to a third, fourth or fifth PT track when they were just discovering "What Time is Love" for the first time, ten months after its initial release?
As far as the "Evil Edit" is concerned - for the record (and I hate all the cloak and dagger stuff myself) I understand that it is a different, fade-end version of the "Power Remix Edit" which appeared on the (promo?) of the GiG 12" in 1989 (the one whose matrix starts 666) but was re-arranged for subsequent re-releases. I used to have that 12" as well, but never really noticed the different.
As far as Chris's motherlode ... well, we'll see. He once sent me a photo of a yellow vinyl Pure Trance 4 (as a good-hearted April Fool's Joke admittedly). My breath is held ...

>As far as the KLF008T goes, I only saw the sleeve so I have no idea what was inside it (although there was a 12" record in it). The sleeve was like your basic Pure Trance one, except the writing on the front was sea green on black and the back of the sleeve was sea green with black writing. It had:The KLF Pure TranceXXXXXXXXXXXXE. Train To Trancentral XXXon the front (the "E. Train..." bit over-ran the large number 5).On the back it had "KLF008T" in the corner but there was no bar code. The spine had KLF008T and "E. Train To Trancentral" written on it.I don't have either of these sadly, didn't believe the 007T record was genuine and had no funds left by then!
