I had started a WR Movie DVD project with a friend who authored and encoded professional DVDs for a living. Everything was completed that I had direct control over. I had my 1st generation PAL copy transferred to professional betacam, and I created all the menus. His job was to implement my menus and handle the details of conversion and PROPER compression of the video to DVD. I was also going to handle the printing and packaging myself. DVDs with graphics printed onto the DVD surface not decals. The problem is that I could never get him to complete his half. So as it stands I have the menus and the tape.
I really want to see this project finished, but I don't want to create a home computer DIY DVD burn. I cringe every time I watch a DVD with heavy mosaic or artifacts. I'm not eager to hand over the tape either. There were other projects that disappeared along with the owners tapes. I have considered putting the tape and menu artwork for sale on the list for someone else to complete. I really don't need the money. Just the fact that they would be paying for it would give the owner much more incentive to complete the project. I'm really not sure what I'm going to do with it at this point. Maybe I should burn it and sell the ashes, or cut it into little pieces selling each one for a dollar or two.
