I only just discovered the archive.org website a few weeks ago. It's great! I've mostly used it for downloading live bootlegs of American college rock bands, but there's other things on there too. It seems archive.org needs to get a confirmation e-mail from the artist saying "it's fine for boots to be uploaded", though. Doesn't that mean Bill or Jimmy would have to contact them first? i spoke with guys from Positive Void. they said YES but not the copyrighted by BIG COMPANIES as they will take it down...
regarding recordings from vinyl, best option for transfer are turntables with USB direct to computer without mixer, EQs, preamps etc
