Hypothetically - how would people feel about a reissue program? Would the idea of shiny new CDs (possibly even - gasp! - officially downloadable mp3s?) appeal? Or would it destroy the mystique, I wonder?
I think there is sufficent demand for a reissue, or rather a boxed set. But I think B&J are the types where KLF was just a phase for them. Something which kept them busy for a couple years and then they moved on.
that sounds about right to me
I would like to see some company take up the line and do a nice compilation album/s - like the German label Repertoire has done with Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
the problem with any possible re-releases is going to be that the majority of it will undoubtedly be all the stuff we already have on CD (like the depeche mode singles boxes) maybe rhino handmade could put together a nice limited edition thing? http://www.rhinohandmade.com/
Incidently, I was watching some of the TOTP clips the other night and I really enjoyed them. They seemed to be taking the piss most of the time, or at least just having fun. I was impressed that J&A was live, vocally. Even Tammy, who was prerecorded, didn't lip sync. Made me wonder about Bill's claim that they had to splice and dice her vocal takes to get a decent performance out of her.
I noticed that too, but as you point out, she WAS pre-recorded, so there was plenty of opportunity to edit her performance for the show in "45" I didn't really read it to mean that the editing was necessary to get a "DECENT" performance from her, though - from what I understood, it wasn't the performance so much as the timing that was an issue
