I had an interesting chat recently, discussing personal Top 5 lists for dance albums, and since we are running out of KLF topics at the moment...
Interesting topic, I like to join :-)
What would be YOUR personal Top 5 (dance) albums ? Releases that you can listen to from the first to the last track without skipping any song ?
In random order my Top5 albums right now: Moby: Everything is wrong - Non-Stop DJ Mix by Evil Ninja Moby: Two disks, one more old school techno/anthems/ambience, the other disc is hard house/acid/trance. This double CD box shows what Moby did back in his 'rave' years. I heard a lot of those tracks when I went to my first raves in the beginning of the 90ies and it's simply great to see how simple and sometime how naive those tracks are. But I still like most of the tracks very much, they were important for techno. Just listened to both of the CD's without a break last saturday. KLF - The White Room: Well, still one of my favourites. I don't have to mention that the guys where ahead of it's time I guess :-)) This album was what made me addicted to electronic music and in my opinion nothing ever bypassed it so far. I think if I listen to the CD I do it without skipping a single song. I listen to it like this since I have the CDI guess. The Prodigy - Experience Another classical techno album. I also like the new stuff of Prodigy but the first album is my favourite of what they did. Simply because it's very powerful music that made me dance every time I heard it at raves. The Chemical Brothers - exit planet dust The first album of the two guys, the track "One Too Many Mornings" still touches my soul when I listen to it. Big beat as it should be but also very calm tracks with great arrangements. Space Night Volume II up to the latest one Not sure if people who don't live in the german speaking part of europe know this stuff. SpaceNight is a very famous ChillOut broadcast on a german TV channel called B3 (Bayern 3). They started to broadcast chilly music (trip hop and easy electronic beats) in the 90ies and the pictures are snippets from NASA and other space archives out there. It got very famuous in the German, Swiss and Austrian rave scene, I can't remember on how many raves they had SpaceNight on TV-Screens. For each season they release(d) a double CD box with some very nice tracks on it, one of my all time favourites ist Sven Väths "Schubdüse". This music is on air when I have friends in the house who are not that much in electronic music, in most cases they like it very much and you can listen to this kind of music for hours. over and out Adrian -- Adrian Gschwend @ OS/2 Netlabs ICQ: 22419590 ktk@netlabs.org ------- The OS/2 OpenSource Project: http://www.netlabs.org
