Which could be why the run-out writing seems to differ on bootlegs?  =)

Now i'm wondering if the Vestax would replicate any faults in the vinyl that is being copied. Did anyone get one of the 008R (cough) 'reissues' that became available a couple of years back, and if so did they notice that they are pretty warped although still playable? I have two copies and they are both like this. I believe from Pete Robinson's book amongst other sources that of the 2000 originally pressed, half were too warped to be playable...

Therefore can anyone who has an original 008R confirm that it is still a little warped, but playable? And if anyone has an original AND a reissue could they compare the two?

And does anyone on the list by any chance own one of these magical Vestax machines?  =)

I also remember seeing a cutter that would attach to a standard 1200, but I can't seem to find anything about them now.

All this talk of pressing plates but of course that isn't the only way to press up some boots. Not sure what it's called exactly but a while back you could purchase a contraption for about £2000.00 that 'read' original vinyl records and 'copied' them by etching or pressing onto a 'blank' 12" disc. Not sure if such copies differ greatly from the original disc or not, but it's a mu ch easier way to bootleg something than locating the original plates. Just a thought =)

very strange to have pressing plates from one plant doing one side of a
record and one set from another plant doing the other!

PR was another company and it is also strange as most of them seem to come
from Damont in Hayes (well when they were in business) and Adrenalin (long
since stopped pressing things).
