is it also true that Pete Wylie did the vocals for the original
grey-vinyl "It's Grim Up North"?
It certainly is. Thanks for that! I'd always wondered. But in that case, is the hit version of "It's Grim Up North", with its "Part 1" and "Part 2", a reference to Wylie's own "The Story of the Blues" (Parts 1 & 2)? I always thought it was an affectionate tribute to the Fall, and their single "Hit the North" (which has a part 1 & part 2), but maybe I'm wrong! John Further up north than "up north"
