big sorry tim for my misunderstanding. yet i think creating such arkive would stop all those false bootlegs rotating on eBay/anywhere and fans being ripped off further more - mu mu works should be archived somewhere, just like in museum. for no money, made sort of public domain thing, creative commons etc. what could be better then archive.org? maybe B&J should be asked, think bout such thing. but this might be just another mad fanboy rambling...

For the sake of good order.
Neither Gimpo nor I have spoken with either Bill or Jimmy regarding the recent frenzy of on-list based file sharing so I am unable to state their absolute position.
What I said to Adam, which is unfortunately misquoted, is:
Jimmy told me that when he and Bill decided that they wanted to delete their back catalogue they intended that it would respectfully remain just so. They are not opposed to low key copyright infringement / bootlegs etc between fans and friends but a large scale or commercial release of their previously deleted material would not be acceptable.
The dilemma is that the more you seek to understand, appreciate and enjoy their extraordinary talent the more you have to afford them the artistic rite (sic) to either create in uniquely precious formats or equally choose to destroy what they have created (possibly as a part of some bigger communication).
It seems to me that the KLF challenged the conventions of copyright control because it restricted the horizons of creativity that new technologies were opening up to new artists.
However it is equally arguable that technology has leapt so far beyond the walls of practicable copyright restriction that finally:
