I had a similar idea, though I am trying to get as many tracks as i can in CD format to put together something that sounds professional. There will be some obvious omissions such as the more 'ambient' of the 004T mixes, the Virtual Reality mix, and not to mention most of 005R - I am wondering whether to make an edit of the Blue Danube Orbital mix from Aubrey mixes II, as it has some orbient extra sample at the start and similar, or a crossfade, at the end Regarding 004R the sleeve is indeed misleading, as "THE '89 PRIMAL REMIX" is in much larger writing on the sticker on the front, but the single track on one side is the "...ORIGINAL CLASSIC TRANCE MIX" with the two remixes on the other side. However that does give us 3 tracks and 3 titles, and the second of the new mixes is definitely the 'slammier' of the two. This is also how they are labelled on 'Ultra Rare Tracks' but I guess that was the opinion of a bootlegger =) Interesting though as I guess the bootleg is more likely to be wrong as they are both similar, and both feature that slam sound....hmmm tbc. The mp3 that is available doesn't sound that nice!! I've already done a "the singles" compilaton with all tracks from the stadium house period and after, so this would be a nice complement! As far as klf4r is concerned, it doesn't tell wich track that is the techno slam mix. I think both are! "The '89 Primal Remix" is just the name of the 12" mange --- John Milne wrote:

Personally, I've always found the "Primal" and "Techno Slam" mixes difficult to tell apart. They're probably some of my least listened to KLF records.

No, no. This is a 1990 CD single, on Coma Records in Denmark/Scandanavia, which contains two tracks from KLF4R ("Original Trance Mix" and "Techno Slam") and two from KLF4X ("Live at Trancentral" and "Techno Gate Mix").

Not sure. The "Techno Slam" CD appearance makes it rare, but also that fact
that you NEVER see it on Ebay and as far as I'm aware, not many people have it. I got the 12" a long time ago in a record shop in Forfar (a small town north on Dundee) which was very surprising - but the CD never appeared.

What makes the CD so rare? Is it the "Techno Slam" mix, or just the fact the CD was a limited run?

Welcome, Mange!
Coma Records seem to have produced one of the rarest KLF CDs. It's COMA CD 7011, and includes the rare "Techno Gate" Mix from 1990, and the 1989 "Techno Slam" Mix, which is not available on CD anywhere else. If you have it, consider yourself lucky! I have never seen a copy, and from previous discussions on here, I don't think many other people have, either.

Hi everyone!
I recently decided to join the list. I'm 27 years old and live in Sweden. I have been collecting KLF records since 1991. They are quite unknown here, but people around my age seem to remember them. The only song they play on the radio nowadays is "jusified and ancient". Before I got the internet it was a difficult task to find a KLF record, specially on CD! Coma records did quite a limited pressing it seems... Well that's it for now!
Cheers, Mange
