My general hypothesis is that they wrote and demoed a number of trance-like tracks for possible inclusion in the Pure Trance series without deciding which track would be released under which title as they had the track names and the sleeve labels first. When they decided to scrap the original 12" every week or two schedule and put the series on hold, there were a number of tracks laying around in various states of completion. Many of these ideas were later revisited and morphed I to other projects (Turn Up the Strobe into IGUN, E-Train into Last Train). The two versions of Love Trance and the various KST mixes/demos were part of this process. Dan On Feb 9, 2013, at 9:37 AM, Maarten Bouwes <maarten@bouwes.nl> wrote:

I agree, the KSTJ remixes are (or were meant to be) part of the Pure Trance series, along with IGUN original. But just listened to IGUN original & Kylie in a Trance [remix] (010RR bside) and they are similar in many ways particularly that base beat.
Turn up the Strobe anyone?
But what about The Lover's Side? Why did Cress say this was the follow up to 3AM? Did JC deny The KLF ever recorded PT3 because of Deep Shit on the Other Side?
As for Pure Trance labels 010, 010T, Promo2 all had Pure Trance labels on the B side, so there is a strong case that KStJ was originally part of the PT series, perhaps the labels had already been produced, we already know that the labels & sleeves for the PT series were pressed up in advance & there's no cat no. on the 010T labels just the addition of a barcode.

I dont think that anything on 008R is the original, since the both are nearly instrumental (apart from Bill's voice that is taken from from Go To Sleep). The unreleased original had Maxine on vocals !
Oh, that's new to me! Where does this info come from?
And 004T is also instrumental so I wouldn't make any conclusions from that.
I too believe that KSTJ (remixes) were some how part of the PT series; KSTJ remixes are quite different from 010T and it has PT logo on label. But what I can't figure out is to what PT release it could relate.
