I downloaded this mix some days ago and I still don't know what this is all about? Is this again a bootleg by Echo Beach who released "Waiting For The Rites Of Mu" some years ago (there is a track called "3AM, Echo Beach"...)? Anyway, nice review John! Did you also hear John Peel talking about The KLF/K Foundation at the end of the mix? I like this one and I hope that someone will press this mix on CD someday... cheers Michael Am 31.07.2005 um 12:49 schrieb John Milne:
Finally downloaded the "soundtrack" to the documentary from the above (which is, in fact, a megamix of things like KLF8R and KLF5R "Blue Danube" etc.) At one point, you can hear a snippet of "The Sheriff of Mu Mu County", the unreleased track from the 1990 "White Room" sessions, complete with the melody and trumpet from "The Lover's Side" (the unreleased track from the 1989 "White Room" sessions).
Is this just lifted from "Brandnew"'s documentary of recording sessions at Trancentral (like Bill's speech about "Pure Trance" on a mix of WTIL which came out a couple of years back) - or is it maybe taken from another source? Is there a full demo version out there somewhere?
Also - anyone have any idea why "Sheriff of Mu Mu County" never appeared on the "White Room" album? It seems as if they updated every other track from the 1989 soundtrack (apart from the not- topical-anymore "KSTJ"; and "Born Free", which was released by Vic Reeves as a cover about month after "The White Room" came out) - so why not "Sheriff of Mu Mu County"? I've always loved the melody.
John
