I've made a rip encoded to h.264/mp4. I don't know how it compares to other rips but I find that encoding to h.264 usually gives better quality than mpeg2 although I might have compressed this one a little bit hard. I'm not sure if I would have gained much with a higher bitrate though. It's encoded with x264 708x408 @ 1000Kbps /Hans AARON Smith skrev 2013-02-04 19:15:

Someone on the list a few years ago put together a set of dvds which included Stadium House and Waiting and so on. These were sourced from the VHS I believe, but I guess depends on your equipment, ripping from the DVD might be cleaner than from a VHS that's been sitting on a shelf all these years?
