The whole point is for those of us who have, whether by luck, work, or money, to share with those who don't. A lot of this stuff was purposefully released in limited editions making the tracks hard to find in the pre-Internet days. If you could compile these tracks on DVD-R and mail them out that would be a HUGE contribution! Dan On Sat, Aug 27, 2011 at 8:10 AM, S Arnold <negative8ball@yahoo.com> wrote:
Hello all - I am sure I have NOTHING to share - I have some of the more common rarities, but only on CD, and I'm sure the nice, shiny, vinyl rips will kick the crap outta those... BUT, I wanted to take a second to say "thanks" for all of this. I really appreciate the time and energy spent by those who are passing this stuff along.
As a longtime fan, I`ve never seen this list as a "sharing" list, per se (which is not to say people here don't share) - it has always seemed more about information and discussion - which, as a slight lurky-type, has been great to read and follow.
That being said, having everyone chip in to make a freely available archive of lossless stuff is awesome.
As for how it will be distributed after it`s all been posted - one of the easiest ways (and safest) may be to ask those of us who can`t contribute (because we don`t have anything) to post copies on DVD to people who come a little late to the party.
Using the master list, we can ensure we have everything - some links can be re-posted - but I know I, for one, would be happy to send out some copies when all is said and done to those who don`t grab everything the first time around.
Doesn`t necessarily help with the missing pieces (which may well happen as links die etc) - but eventually some 'full sets' will exist and could be passed around... just a thought.
Regardless - thanks all - it is most definitely appreciated.
