God, I'd forgotten about the Nathan Barley DVD booklet - it's well Jackson. John

Regarding your quandary, I got the impression Banksy only did this in a few stores and they were all removed, but could be wrong, perhaps there are thousands of these rogue CDs! Unlike the old x$x 'Black Room' CD which I believe was stickered "free" (as it should have been) as you rightly point out, you can't safely take one of these out of the store under your coat (especially if Banksy left those nice metal security strips in place!)
Regarding "Wanksy", check out the booklet that comes with the DVD set of the first series of 'Nathan Barley' (especially if you are a Chris Morris fan, it's nowhere near as bad as people made out, often pretty funny), it's a little book of copycat art which effectively sends up Banksy in a pretty obvious way, with very poor-but-attempting-to-be-profound puns aplenty, supposedly by Mr Barley
Regarding the Popbitch reference, dare you suggest Pete Robinson could have made better use of his time since he was a KLF-obsessed nipper, rather than become a rather cynical old-before-his-time music journo, and inventor of a slightly nasty Heat/3AM Girls hybrid little website? ;-)

A couple of interesting quandries ...
(1) you're in your local HMVirgin, and you see a copy. Heart beating faster with thoughts of Ebay riches, you go to the counter and the assistant goes "oh, sorry, this is one of those doctored albums ... I'd better give you a real one instead" What can you do? If you steal one from the shop, instead of trying to pay £16.99 for it, will you get done for shoplifting? If the assistant spots it's "wrong" one, can you say "well, it's not your CD to sell is it?" and take the disc home for free. In a situation like that, I find the issue of ownership quite interesting.
(2) How many megastore managers are sitting on £1000s of art to sell on Ebay right now? Does Banksy have a lot of mates, putting CDs in racks up and down the country - or is the "all over the UK" statement a bit of an exaggeration? Will I find one in both Perth and Penzance Megastores?
(3) Has anyone been stupid enough to buy one, then take it back to complain, unaware of the media fuss?
(4) It's all a lot of fun - but taking the piss out of Paris Hilton is a bit "popbitch", isn't it? It's hardly the zeitgeist=hugging we'd expect from art terrorism. Also, Banksy claims Hilton is too "blonde" to understand the satire (quoted in other articles I found through Google news last night) - but would he be overjoyed if someone parodied him as "Wanksy" (not a million miles away from his satire of Hilton) and grafittied the same questions like "Why Do I Exist?" next to his name all over walls (oh, and "London/Brighton Media Wanksy", "Laughing all the Way to the Banksy" etc etc).

Damn good question, only to be confirmed if you can find a copy of the doctored album, but since these are fetching 300 quid plus on ebay... :-o

Some nice work by Banksy, with shades of Jimmy and Bill, also those weird old x$x CDs:
