I got talking to my uncle about music one night and it was one of those things where the generation gap is insurmountable. He couldn't accept anything after Motorhead's third LP, as it were, as being any good even though he complained about his dad not accepting The Beatles because they'd ruined rock'n'roll.
Anyway at some point I started ranting about how more recent bands had played with the whole culture of rock and roll sensibilities and of course I was giving him the full sp on The KLF and mentioned the burning of the £1m as a great event and lo and behold, he mentioned this 'Jim'll Fix It' thing (I'm not sure what this show was).
Of course I thought he was just playing a bullshit trump card to prove his general point that "modern stuff...it's all rehash"
Of course he's right. At least everything after The KLF is.
