"Everything you know is wrong" was the title of an 1967 LP by The Firesign Theatre, much loved by Robert Anton Wilson so that he made reference to it in several of his books. The slogan was a contemporary underground phrase, originally in reference to the Vietnam War. as in "Everything you know about Vietnam is wrong". Wilson, who extended it to make the point that everything we "know" is the result of what we're TOLD, is probably the main reason it went forward into such things as ZOO TV.

As usual the KLF didn't originate this (or much else) since their main love was to recombine existing things
