Marshall here.
Yes, I did make the black & white 1987. Any specific questions you want answered?
The reason the album sides are reversed is to put "The Queen & I" at the front of the disc so people listening to the disc in an indie record store would hear "that song" and purchase the disc without having to skip around and find it. Continuity may have been wacked, but it still flows rather well. That's one thing I miss about recordings being made for the LP and cassette format: the album side. If you listen to recordings pre-CD, you can repeat one side over and over and it has a beginning and an end. Now with the CD being one sided, the pause and rebuilding on "side 2" rarely ever happens. One long run without a plateau or intermission.
While on the subject of clearing up responsibility, I made the Beastie Boys "Beastieality" CD with America No More on it as well. It was a track I always played to end my sets at a night club in Tampa, Florida called 911. EVERYONE wanted a copy of it, and I was tired of dubbing tapes. When I compiled the Beasties disc, I had extra space and wanted to make the most of the run. So I put "America: No More" on there to make it easier for me to spread the track to my friends!
If you own that one, the little kids reading a letter from Hustler magazine at the end of the disc are my brothers, who prepared a talk show skit based around my smut collection. Pretty clever for two boys ages 9 & 11....(Yes, my mom & dad have heard them...) They programmed the Casio sampling drum machine too!
It's no wonder that I never want to have kids!
Goodnight from the corruptor of youth,
Marshall
