My Top Five (or six!) Dance/Techno/Electronic albums
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon - this is the original electronic album, if it is not in your collection you are wasting your life and not properly utilizing whatever sound system you have. 29 years old and still groundbreaking in many ways. On the run is an absolute adrenalin rush for any fan of analog synths and electronic music. Doubting Thomas - The Infidel - basically everything that I ever liked about Skinny Puppy in a sampladelic, groove oriented package. moody with catchy beats that you will not be able to leave alone Orbital - 2 - from the intro (time becomes a loop) to the final whisper, this is a damned fine album. The first truly intelligent dance record that I'd ever heard. not a weak moment on the album Future Sound of London - ISDN - a compilation of live performances but without a doubt one of my absolute favorites, intelligent catchy and non-traditional. FSOL rocks my world. The Orb - Adventures beyond the Ultraworld - journey music of the finest calibre, inner exploration meshing with interstellar travel. how can you not like it??? Fluke - Risotto - probably the one of the best records in my collection extremely dancable and intelligent, just the way i like it and there ya go. this list could have stretched to 50, there are so many good albums out there. These are essential, don't cheat yourselves. Also, check out Single Cell Orchestras album called Dead Vent Seven.
