has anyone on this list got any of the burnt £50 notes?
From what I gather, the money was found on the beach the following morning by locals. I think this was reported in the Glasgow "Daily Record" at the time.
There was also some involvement by the Police. A Western Isles PC (sadly not called Neil Howie) was interviewed on a Channel 4 "Great Rock'n'Roll Scams" programme years later. He had attended the site of the burning the following day - and was apparently a big fun of "J&A" (he sung a bit to camera on the show!) Also - didn't Bill and Jimmy used to throw parties for the Juran locals in the aftermath of any stunt they pulled on their island (Rites of Mu, Waiting filming, the burning, etc.)? John PS - Back in the early eighties, Bill organised a tour for Echo and the Bunnymen of the Scottish Hebrides. Does anyone know if McCulloch et al played Jura that time? -- Whatever you Wanadoo: http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/time/ This email has been checked for most known viruses - find out more at: http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/help/id/7098.htm
