Sorry to harp on about this, but from http://www.illitrate.co.uk/klf/FAQ/faq2017.html - it mentions that: LTTC Sleeve: front: Large black '5' on blue/sea green background back: Large blue/sea green 'KLF' on black background NB Many copies of KLF 008R have a sleeve similar to KLF005T (pink on black) but the pink is a more fleshy colour than on Pure Trance 2. Has anyone ever seen (or got) a sea green "Pure Trance 5" in their collection? Chris

History Of The Jams/LTTT repress???

Hi. This week I stumbled upon some pretty strange stuff in my local record importer: Last Train (Live) unplayed KLF Coms/Arista 12" (Tracks: 1. Iron Horse 2. Live From... 3. Mu D. It was ALMOST unopened. The second item, however, was really unopened: History Of The Jams in vinyl, in perfect condition (with a red sticker and stuff). It was really unopened by anyone. My question goes like this: does TVT and Arista repressing these albums and singles on vinyl, or I'm just a lucky bloke to pick up a sealed treasure from 1988? I became obsessed (more than a fan <g>) with them in about 1992 I reckon. I liked 3AM Eternal (the 'public' version), but never bought it. I then bought LTTT on CD single and The White Room when it came out. After that I was hooked. Basically it was all down the the discography in the White Room booklet. I thought - hmm? How come this is LP6? Where's LP1 to LP5? And what's this about "JAMS LP6" shouldn't it be KLF LP6? After that - the rest is history... I bought DLP3 and KLF005R from Probe in Liverpool and JAMS23T (James Allerton ps) from Tudor House in Chester. The rest I accumulated via mail order and record fairs until recently when I started getting them via eBay. I read up on the Pure Trance series on Lazlo's discog (first heard of the other Pure Trance's from a Record Collector article I copied when I bought JAMS23T) and I've watched the interviews on "brandnew" as well. I've got a load of original NME and Meldoy Maker cuttings which I keep meaning to put in a scrap book, as well as several full-page ads (in particular, the "KLF Have Quit" one). I even ordered KLF006T, KLF007T and KLF012T from HMV! They had appeared on their system (I think I still have the order receipts) - they wrote to me about 12 months later saying the items had been withdrawn and cancelled the order). I bought the "White Room Demos" cassette for £5 back in '93 I think - to be honest, I can understand why they scrapped the other Pure Trance's if they were anything like the demos... I know you're skeptical - and I agree that the authenticity of this current item is dubious to say the least. I also agree that any monkey with a pressing plant handy could knock out pretty much anything. *That said*, Miles sent me a CD-R of his PT3 and - I don't know - but I really do think it's genuine. I think possibly more so because of the "Monster Attack Mix" rather than "Love Trance". Impossible to say for sure though isn't it? Chris Ps, two things that intriegue me: Firstly, regarding KLF008R, was it the test presses, the w/l, or the final release that got warped? Secondly, given that "Go To Sleep" and the original LTTT share much from each other, what on earth would "E-Train To Trancentral" have sounded like? Ebay should have some rules to protect you in that case. You have a right to a refund if you are sold an item that isn't legitimate even if the seller is unaware. I think their rules used an example of a piece of jewelry with a fake stone. I ended up having to use it when someone tried to sell me a rare toy that was incomplete and UV damaged. They tried to say that it wasn't their fault because they didn't know that wasn't original condition of the toy. I imagine you could use it for a record too. That is if they haven't changed the rules around. Hi I was in Bank Tube station in London on Friday, transferring from the Northern to the Circle/District line through a seemingly never-ending series of tunnels, when I passed a poster which said, roughly speaking: "In 1994, The KLF burnt a million quid". It seemed to be part of a series of posters, possibly commemorating various historical events, presumably advertising something. Anybody else noticed it, and had the time to stop and investigate?
