Unreleased KLF Track

As many of you will recall a cache of lost and forgotten material was rediscovered during Jimmy's house move early last year. Some of the tracks were liberated by The Junior Insurgent Transmitter Ensemble for the soundtrack to the 2009 M25 Spin. We have produced a single track DVD sampler and will be giving it away to all the "spinners" joining us this year. The track featured is a unique version of the Pure Trance classic What Time Is Love and was recorded and performed by The KLF at the very first Helter Skelter illegal rave held on the 30th September 1989. We will be meeting up at Thurrock Service Station just off the M25 at 11am on Saturday 20th March 2010 and will be on the London Orbital Motorway until 1pm on Sunday 21st March. Every two laps we stop for fuel and pick up passengers / collaborators at Clacket Lane Services (clockwise side). I remember *really* wanting to go but I lived in California at the time and it was impractical. I did have a friend in London at the time I could have stayed/gone with so there was a LOT of internal debate. In the end I stayed home and listed to the live stream, with a tape deck plugged in to the PC recording everything!

2K at Barbican

For some reason I found myself on the YouTube video of the full 2K Fuck The Millennium musical theatrical extravaganza from 1997 at the Barbican. I remember we (member of this mailing list) met at a pub beforehand, I came with Uni friend Ian. I can't remember how I got the tickets, I seem to remember Jai got them, but I might have misremembered. Whatever it was an amazing night, never to be forgotten or repeated. Unofficial picture discs

Really easy. Its a picture behind a clear one sided vinyl. Ine cut vinyl do them. Not as picture discs but if you own a printer then off you go. The KLF at the bbc

If you search you tube with "The klf at trancentral studio(1989)" it brings up the bbc clip later used in the bbc omnibus documentary and the recent music for misfits program. Does anyone know what bbc show this was originally from?

Bill Drummond wanted a record of the Pinewood videos, I think the budget was ?250K for both, (big budget by today's standards) I remember B telling me they wanted to burn the longship but in the end used SPX gas so they didn't upset the Viking Society. They gave me free rein to make the film which was a lot of fun especially interviewing Tammy Wynette -unfortunately they disbanded before releasing the doc and as far as I know it was never shown. I found one of the Flying V guitars on the floor of the studio after the after shoot party and brought it in to the transfer and gave it to Jimmy. He later remarked that as he walked up Wardour st carrying the guitar passers by were thinking he thought he looked like a rock star and of course he was, had a top 10 hit. After finishing those videos, a very busy schedule, which also included studio recording with a metal band that cost I think ?150K and never released, they announced that they were taking a break, I loved their attitude to the business and to money, literally burning it. Re Whitney joins the chart show

I have seen on you tube that someone has put the heavy metal chart from the chart show for the 25th September 1987. This coincides with the third appearance of the Whitney video on the show. The youtube person called oldfashionedman has made a comment that he has the rest of the episode and will put the rest of it on you tube if requested. As my tube account has been hacked, can someone put a comment on the clip and request the indie chart for this episode? If we can get this we will have the 3 appearances of Whitney on the show.. and hopefully see more of the video.
