Unreleased KLF Track

As many of you will recall a cache of lost and forgotten material was rediscovered during Jimmy's house move early last year. Some of the tracks were liberated by The Junior Insurgent Transmitter Ensemble for the soundtrack to the 2009 M25 Spin. We have produced a single track DVD sampler and will be giving it away to all the "spinners" joining us this year. The track featured is a unique version of the Pure Trance classic What Time Is Love and was recorded and performed by The KLF at the very first Helter Skelter illegal rave held on the 30th September 1989. We will be meeting up at Thurrock Service Station just off the M25 at 11am on Saturday 20th March 2010 and will be on the London Orbital Motorway until 1pm on Sunday 21st March. Every two laps we stop for fuel and pick up passengers / collaborators at Clacket Lane Services (clockwise side). Once again, this guy is a long time, very trusted member of the list and I don't remember what the details were, but it probably came down to whomever originally pressed the thing realized what he had when the band broke-up and banged out a few more off the books. Hey all, Any other Numan fans out there? I goti into his old stuff around 1996 when I was bored looking for old things I had missed. Really dug the 79 to 83 output. Then a year later he brought out "Exile" and that really blew me away. "Pure" was even better. Have mixed feelings about "Jagged" but really like the early versions of these tracks he released on a comp a few years later. Just received "Dead Son Rising" in the mail and am pretty impressed so far. OK, it's a little padded with a few unnecessary reprises, but I think the thing was orginally supposed to be a mini-LP but he expanded it some so he could trot out all the deluxe formats. I've went to all his US shows since I've been an adult (Pontiac 1997, Royal Oak 2001, Detroit 2006, Pontiac 2010) and the guy gives amazing performances considering tickets usually only cost between $17 to $20 and he plays to small crowds at least in the US. He remindes me of the KLF in a way as he's a complete DIY project: self-funding, self-producing, and until very recently he managed his own website and webstore. I think in recent years he's done well enough to farm his site out to a third party as well as his online sales, but he's basically still self-funded, managed, and runs his own label. Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Prince, and most especially NIN have been name checking him lately. IMO he's an impressive guy then and especially now. Haters need not apply. Dan
