Unreleased KLF Track

As many of you will recall a cache of lost and forgotten material was rediscovered during Jimmy's house move early last year. Some of the tracks were liberated by The Junior Insurgent Transmitter Ensemble for the soundtrack to the 2009 M25 Spin. We have produced a single track DVD sampler and will be giving it away to all the "spinners" joining us this year. The track featured is a unique version of the Pure Trance classic What Time Is Love and was recorded and performed by The KLF at the very first Helter Skelter illegal rave held on the 30th September 1989. We will be meeting up at Thurrock Service Station just off the M25 at 11am on Saturday 20th March 2010 and will be on the London Orbital Motorway until 1pm on Sunday 21st March. Every two laps we stop for fuel and pick up passengers / collaborators at Clacket Lane Services (clockwise side). Today I visited RAF Yatesbury (With Pictures)

Hi All, Just thought I'd report back on a visit I made to RAF Yatesbury. It's only about 35 miles from me, so I thought it would be a good way to waste a few hours. For those that weren't aware, RAF Yatesbury is a disused RAF base that was used in the shooting of the Timelords video: Doctorin' the Tardis. As we approached I stumbled across this post box: http://img17.imageshack.us/i/postbox.jpg/ anyone recognise it?! The road that would be behind me as I take the picture of the post box looks like this: http://img211.imageshack.us/i/roadc.jpg/ which looks rather decrepit now. Also, this shelter features in the video but has now been filled in: http://img218.imageshack.us/i/shelterd.jpg/ Now for the sad bit. Just a little further up the road you can see all the buildings and the area that Ford Timelord was recorded. It's all fenced off, and all the buildings are covered in scaffolding. From what I could gather from a local, the area was being restored a few years ago and the company went bankrupt. Therefore it's now owned by the Royal Bank Of Scotland. Access is prohibited, and I was told that the whole area is very dangerous, buildings are ready to collapse, and manhole covers are missing. The only way to gain access is to break in. I was asked: "Why are you interested anyway". I replied, "A video was shot here in the late 80s". The old man responded. "What, the one with the daleks?". That'll be the one! I will return, with my brother. However I think it's very unlikely that the car I'm restoring will be filmed here due to the restricted access. But we'll see.... ;-) Hope this was of some interest. List Only Project Ford Timelord Update

Happy new year everyone. Just thought I’d send a ‘list only’ update on the progress of Project: Ford Timelord. As with all the other stages, the MOT is taking longer than expected. Until the car has an MOT it cannot be registered and until it is registered it cannot be legally driven or kept on a public road. The biggest hurdle to overcome for MOT repairs is obtaining a new set of cables for the handbrake, these are quite difficult to get hold of even in the USA, and I am expecting to wait for a further 2 weeks for these. A majority of the other work has now been completed, including most of the welding, and affixing indicators to the front and rear of the car. I’ve managed to acquire very similar models of indicators as worn by the original car, bullet style on the front, and flat circular style on the boot. Although not road legal, I have driven it about 4 miles up the road to the welding shop. I think I had a smile on my face for the whole journey – it’s like driving a canal barge on the road. And great news, the most elusive part that is was trying to get hold of, the roof mounted search lamps, I managed to find a set on eBay. They’re not an ‘exact’ match, but they are as near as I’m going to get, and I’ll add the criss cross mesh onto the lens when they arrive, they are pictured here: http://img208.imageshack.us/i/captureht.jpg/ Anyway, just thought I’d send out the update, hope everyone is having a good festive season.
