But if you don't have the funds you can mimic my edit of Whitney I literally just completed, tho I think I'll trim it a little shorter, just not sure where. Exact points mentioned will differ from your rips: Cut out the following: - approx 3.18 after Whitney sings the last "With somebody who loves me" and just before it goes into Mission Impossible. TO - approx 5.58. Whitney sings the same line, cut at the very end of this, leaving the "UUHHH!" and the breakdown, etc which follows. So, the first 3.18 and the last 1.08. total time of the edit: 4.26. This brings the time of the CD down to 76.12. (problem is, it still leaves the cd 1.12 too long to include Build a Fire, dammit. But Go to Sleep fits. hmmm) *** The 3am Pure Trance edit is a little redundant as well since it sounds more like Live at the SSL than WTIL Power sounds like Trancentral. If that made sense. That'll free up 3.5 mins. -paul

Are there two original editions of the "Space" CD?

Sorry to keep to banging on about this (as I don't own a promo, I know it disrupts the flow of the thread) but e-bay item: 4015172761 is a copy of the Space CD identical to the one I have, red on black (despite the fuzzy photo). The earlier auction: 4013828446 is the black on red one. Notice that the earlier one is going for £70 and the newer Space CD is going for £40 - and neither have met their reserve yet! Looks like e-bay's silly season is swinging in again as the nights get longer (at least in the Northern Hemisphere). ;) John

The man in the Ice Cream Van? Vanilla Bill? I always suspect that anything KLF-y will always have something about it that would betray its origins (even the "I Wanna 121 WIth You" single had KLF lettering on the inner sleeve). Some things which were meant to be KLF - 1300 Drums, for example - had nothing that could be identified with B & J (and of course, were nothing to do with them) I don't think Vanilla were a "hoax" anyway - they were merely a pop group, like B*witched or Cartoonz, and there was nothing subversive or situationist about them. My opinion, anyway ... There's a whole mythology attached. The core they base it all on is the Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson. A unique read, provided you can make it past the first 300 pages. -paul

I was listening to the "Eternity Project One" CD a couple of days ago, and I realised that "Love Trance" sounds very similar to the (Patterson/Cauty) Orb's debut "Tripping on Sunshine (Live Mix)" and the CD-only track known as "The Orb". Assuming that "Love Trance" was recorded around about the same time (early 1989?) then it does seem to fit in with what Jimmy was producing at time (although I'm not suggesting that Alex was involved too). There are a lot of Cauty tracks from that era - the Kiss EP, some of the Disco 2000 stuff - which are not particularly melodic. Also, "Love Trance"'s "penetration seven minutes" sample can also be found on the first side of "Space" too ... all pointers, I think, to its legitimacy!
