Rikki & Daz - The Barn Dance Boys - Pop Justice - The KLF???

Hi I've just been looking at a website for a new act called Ricki & Daz and was reading their biography and I realised there may be a link to The KLF here. Rikki & Daz recently covered Rhinestone Cowboy. They are from the north (Manchester). They have a link on their website to Pop Justice (which appears to be actually run by them). Pop Justice sent an e-mail out this week stating The Barndance Boys are not Rikki & Daz. According to the bio on Rikki & Daz - http://www.rikkianddaz.fsnet.co.uk/biog.html, one was part of The Cuban Boys (the one's that did Hamster Dance - C vs I) and the other was a member of Bus Stop (Carl Douglas - Kung Fu Fighting). They also mention that they influenced N-Trance. This whole Rikki & Daz thing seems to be very similar to The KLF. Anyone think there could be a link here? They come from the north (and they mention a lot about being Scumpop - pop music that originated from the North). The KLF originated from the north (B&J started in Liverpool). R&D sample a lot of stuff - The KLF do I need to mention Abba? R&D seem to have a funny feel about them - very similar to the KLF, not taking the music industry seriously! N-Trance always mentioned that The KLF were their main influence (hence the reason why they used Ricardo Da Force for the rap). The KLF were known by many titles (and sometimes dis-associated themselves from themselves - i.e. KLF is not The Kopyright Liberation Front). Rikki & Daz seem to be known by many things - Pop Justice, Rikki & Daz ( & Possibly The Barndance Boys, although in Pop Justice newsletter they put they are not the Barndance Boys, despite the two sounding identical) The KLF always liked to attack forms of artwork (The Tate, The Dome, Abba). Could (s)he please scan the record cover (yes, that one with the boy looking straight into the camera) in a decent quality (big size) and mail it to me ? The reason I chose the designs for the www.klf.org.uk site are because that's what most people requested (and we are highly unlikely to get done for kopyright infringement!!!) I worked at the printing company since we first started in 1994, and since then have grown massively. I left them in feb this year to pursue my career in programming, but I still have close links with the printers.(which is why some people's orders have taken a while to dispatch - my extreme apologies for this!) Currently, they are expanding and have invested a sum of dosh in screenprinting, flex and embroidery. Designs on darker coloured clothing need an alternative to the one currently provided, and also require an up-front outlay. Cleaning up Virtual Reality

A week or two back there was some discussion on a loud pop which takes place about 35 seconds into the VR mix of What Time is Love. It was commented that since the pop is echoed in the mix that it's on the source recording, and that it's not possible to clean this. I'm currently working on a project cleaning up my Kollection and I've just taken a look at the track. It's actually quite easy to repair (assuming you want to since it *is* a part of the track, tho probably in error). Hard to explain exactly how but I'll try. Using a digital extraction from Lost Sounds, and Cool Edit as my editing program, the pop comes in at about 35.7 seconds on both channels, with the echo hitting at 36.1. This comes in the middle of a bit which lasts from 35.590 to 36.292, which is pretty much a duplicate of 34.885 to 35.590. These are rough numbers and you might want to zoom in to make a more perfect start and end point. I just highlighted the second area and copied it into memory, then using Cool Edit's Mix Paste feature, pasted it (using the Replace option in the dialog box) over the former. The result is flawless. Now, I just have to try to figure out an easy way of removing the pops throughout the track easily... -paul

wtil mispress

Just found a mispress of WTIL. It was the standard danish coma-records release, playing 4 tracks (trancentral,primal,pure trance,technogate) but both side's labelled as Dr Baker's "Kaos" (which was released on Coma one year earlier).
