I have a gratitude so deep i cannot express it with words. A group of friends decided to carve out their own trail about thirteen years ago, and start something pretty cool Kulture Krash was born. In that time, this merry band Misfits has lead by example, and been the change that we all so desperately want to see. I have been able to stand shoulder to shoulder with people who have become family. People who would do anything for me, and me for them. Building something like this hasn't been easy, but anything worthwhile never is. Late nights, long days, so much going on behinds the scenes that no one ever sees, and few appreciate, but all of that time, that sacrifice has gone on to create something pretty special. I mean, it's almost funny at this point, but I literally had at least a hundred people come up to me yesterday and tell me that KK is their favorite show of the year. From families all walking around in their show shirts, art collectors, car owners, kids dressed in costumes and so many more. It's easy to become apathetic to it, and forget what all of this means to so many. I got word today, that through all of your generosity, we raised FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS yesterday! I couldn't help but get emotional. We have been blessed every year to make more for our charity then the year before. That simply doesn't happen. I don't even know how to quantify that level of humanity. There has been something in the air for awhile now. You can feel the tension from everyone around you. This nation is divided, probably irreparable. The divisive and ugly rhetoric, the "us vs them" mentality, the way we communicate to each other, and the things we choose to share online. It's made people mean. I didn't feel any of that yesterday. What a beautiful gathering of the very best of humanity. A celebration of life, love, family, art, hot rods, and some really special kids. I've said it before, on the shoulders of giants I stand. Without this group of people who I love, I really don't think I would have made it this year. We did something good yesterday. It is life affirming. One thing that I have taken from my mama, and believe completely is this. The heart that gives, gathers. We have made a difference. Thats amazing. Family is everything, and life is beautiful. Thank you to everyone. AK~ This all has been said, .. Perfectly J.C
