Well, last week is now “in the bag” Been so many places, and nice to say, I have seen so many smiles! Godfathers finally was able to pull together enough staff to have a cruise night, and will have their Halloween event Oct 14th, Brigham City Peach Days was one of the biggest at 989 entries, A new event on board was Shake Shack at Fashion place mall, filled the parking lot with 123 registrations, and all attendees were given a cup of their custard just for signing up! They too plan a Halloween event on Wed Oct 20, Soda Row pulled off a limited Cruise night (lawn area under demolition again/still) and gave out $185 in Gift cards. And on Saturday, Mother Nature started off threatening the annual Utah VW Classic show in Riverton, registration count I could get was around 300, Final Score, Mother Nature Zero, Utah VW Classic won by.. one and a half points!
The Utah VW event always amazes me,, We fill the Riverton City Park to the max with Bugs, Karman Ghia’s, Dune Buggys, Things, Porsche’s, and Busses (Transports as they call them, They are kinda like Corvettes, Rare, Unique, harder to find and beautifully restored). The club goes to the extreme with Games and prizes, all the way to a fully functional RUNNING motor from Blackline Racing. They have it on a stand and fire it up several times during the event. Very nice raffle prizes, and the show is covered by VW Magazine. VW Enthusiasts from all over the U.S drive for mega miles to support this show, The Local Club raises and uses funds raised for local Christmas Charities and is a Utah 501-c-3 entity. GOOD JOB TO ALL!
Same day overlapping the Saturday event is the Vintage Trailer Campout weekend held at the Willard/Perry/Brigham City KOA. This also is an annual event, this year over 40 Trailers, Campers, Teardrops, Motorhomes, of all sizes, colors and stages of restorations come together to display their Pride & Joys.. It truly is an experience you have to see to believe. Leader of the Pack is a very Rare and vintage Airstream Trailer shined to absolute perfection, owned by Orbie and Emma Mungall, they go to great strides to ensure a good time for everyone, right down to Live entertainment (Guitar and singing) to dinner hosted by Smoke A Billy BBQ, and to top it off, evening Ice Cream Socials, and early Sunday Morning Breakfast Burritos. …

THIS WEEK we have even more Fun and Family of Friends lined up… Wednesday is the monthly Burger Stop Cruise Night Wed Sept 22, Valley Fair Mall Sept 23, Then pack the bags,, We are heading to the beautiful area surrounding Kanab Utah, Friday Sept is a FREE Cruise night in Kanab, Hosted by Lou & Traci Pratt, complete with a escorted Main Street Cruise led by police and county Sheriffs, and then Saturday, We have the annual Mt. Carmel THUNDERBIRD Car-Truck-Bike-Vintage RV show actually ON the Golf Course at the Thunderbird lodge just outside of Zion National park! 16 miles north of Kanab, Rooms still available in Kanab and Thunderbird Lodge. Show proceeds donated to local Veteran memorial, Emalene Lake and Janice are heading up the 50/50 drawing and someone will WIN a Vintage and very unique Golf Cart !!. Resort Owners Ed & Arlene Meyers are very proud to host this annual event and extend a warm “country style” invitation to all to come on down, drive on over. And join in THE FUN. I should mention a Pie eating contest with a cash prize, a Pie-Girl Look alike contest with a Cash Prize.. Special Guest appearances by one of Utah’s finest Pin stripers, Jeff Dastrup, (Pin striper extraordinaire!)
