Wow, where do I start on recent events ?? One Man Band packed the house,, Jordan landing was one of the biggest in spite of the “warm” weather.. Vinny showed up with plate after plate of Free Cookies. Compliments of The old Famous Daves, the new name will be “Mama Bird” and should open later this season.. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!
Friday at Riverton Chevrolet… The Staff and the support was mind blowing 255 registered (and 18 didn’t).. Last years attendance was 242.. AMAZING! We kept the food trucks busy, Every one who registered received a Riverton Chevrolet T-Shirt, Award winners received an award plaque and a very nice detail kit.. The one and only Jon Carter was on hand and had a blast, he even selected an award winner, Ray & Dale Tennison Chevy II Convertible. CONGRATS!... I love the additional unique awards,, Best FORD picked by a Chevy Guy, Best MOPAR picked by a Chevy Guy and one that was .. Best “Other” from another Mother.. Its funny to hear folks say,, ahh, it’s a Chev Dealership,, they only pick Chevys… NOT!
The Staff was blown away by the Camaro Club of Utah, and the Corvette Club,, rallying the members to show their support of a very nice show
Currently, .. its so difficult for Businesses to survive,, (How well I know!!).. Everyone reading this needs to realize,, WE ARE THE BUYING POWER! If you want a business or Car Show to survive, to grow, to succeed… SUPPORT THEM !
SATURDAY, in Sunset, heartwarming and amazing! Wasatch Rods & Customs worked hard to insure a great show, INCLUDING a few surprises!!
Proceeds from the show are donated to Children’s Justice center and Gods Garage.. It was so nice to watch as Gods Garage GAVE a young single Mother a very nice Car, No Strings attached! Not a dry eye in the place!! At 12 noon, our Presentation of Colors was AMAZING! Utah Military academy in full uniform presented our flag, everyone listened as our National anthem played and then we are reminded .. Freedom ISNT FREE! .. Our microphone was given to Larry Kerr for the announcement of a long overdue placement of the Agent Orange memorial, now has found its home in Rachael Runyan Park in Sunset. .. Sunset Mayor Scott Wiggill, made the official presentation..
During Saturdays show,, We were totally blown away by the Stags Car Club, In case everyone isn’t aware, the Stags club is the oldest Car Club in the state of Utah started in 1957 and the most recognized Car club in the country alongside of the Automobile Club of America.. one of the only Car clubs in America to be featured at the Petersons Automotive Museum in Los Angeles California
We have had the absolute privilege of knowing/association with members and families of the Stags Club for years.. Saturday, they singled us out and presented us with a unique and one and only Stags Club Plaque. And Made us Honorary Members.. To my knowledge,, there never has been any … Honorary Members! Our sincere and heartfelt THANKS and Appreciation can never fully be expressed enough,, We have admired, and respected the Stags Families for years! … This seriously comes as a total shock.. I am still stunned as I recall looking up, seeing most all Stags members surround us.. unexpected and un-worthy is the understatement of the year!
