What was… WAS !!
Last weekend in Page Arizona was something you had to see, had to experience to believe. The Cruise Night welcome party went off great in spite of Arizona Highway Dept re-surfacing a few roads,, so, what do we do,, Well, dust off PLAN B! Hot Rodders don’t let something un-expected and stupid like that stop us from having the most fun allowed by Arizona Law! A cruise around town and down to Wahweap and back, sandwiches and drinks to all who registered, free photos showing the scenic area and Glen Canyon Dam.
We maxed out a few hotels/motels.. My count was 9 club members put this show on NINE! .. They did a fandamntastic job! This year’s show was renamed to honor a good friend Warren Whistler who passed away in January. Warren was the driving force of the Lake Powell Cruisers Car Club, he set a great example, Spencer and the club held to it extremely well. BE PROUD OF IT! This year was a record breaker 103 entries! For YEARS, We have had a pact to do a “Happy dance” if we ever broke 100.. so,,, we literally shook the earth just prior to awards.. Yes, unfortunately there is video to prove it, but it most likely (hopefully) will be banned for unsightful content.
Congrats to all award winners and especially ALL attendees, you are ALL winners! Some took home plaques, some took home money. ALL of us took home wonderful memories and smiles to last a lifetime. I love it when I hear “Home cooking” 6 out of 10, top 10 picks went home to Las Vegas, (Great bunch of Crazies) 3 of the top 10 went home to Utah, another bunch of Crazies.. so, do the math… Home Cookin?? Home is WHERE your heart is,, HOME is where your “Family of FRIENDS ARE!!
We had an after show dinner at the Gone west steak house,, they about passed out when we reserved for 48 people,, and we added a few more at dinner time! Oh, If you hear or see video of two GUYS dancing together,, it might have been photo-shopped, then again,, it might NOT have! Congratulations to the BIRTHDAY CREW,, yes, video of their “performance” is floating around ,,, somewhere! All in ALL, It was a very GREAT SHOW..

Tuesday May 4h… ONE MAN BAND in Lehi, 1220s Main St, 801-766-0553, Event runs from 5-8pm, Free Registration to any and all makes of “collectible” cars - trucks and Motorcycles, Door prizes available, Dash Plaques and awards given out. Jon and his staff take pride in a very nice cruise night, great food and prizes available. Take the 1st Lehi exit from the I-15 Freeway, turn left, (East).. One man Band is on the right, immediately after the first traffic light. (next door to the NEW harbor freight tools)
Wednesday May5th, JORDAN LANDING’S FIRST Cruise Night of 2020!! Come and join us for an afternoon/evening of fantastic Classics, Hot Rods, Rat Rods, and FRIENDS of all kinds! We will be in “the usual” Parking lot across the street from FAMOUS DAVES BBQ, Prizes, Fat Boy Ice Creams, and will there be nice tasty samples from Famous Daves? .. You have to be there to find out !!
