As many of you know, the earthquake last March did quite a bit of damage to the marina frontage road. The road continues to fail daily with some areas getting quite bad and other areas just now showing the signs of damage. It has been decided to repair as much of the road now as possible. Staker Parsons has been awarded the contract for these repairs. The repairs are estimated to take about two weeks. This is a large project as much of the 1.75 mile road is now damaged. The original plan was to close the marina for much of this time but that has now changed. Staker feels they can keep the road open during the duration of the project but restricting traffic. This means there will be lane closures as well as flagman stopping traffic. This could mean delays getting to the marina. As I email you this notice, Staker is putting up signage warning of lane restrictions and delays in getting into the marina. The project starts Monday. I will keep you posted as this project develops. But, because of cold temperatures, we may not pave the road until spring. This may mean the road will consist of large stretches of road base. Dave
