The lake situation out here is a catastrophe. We have already dropped a foot since our disastrous lake level this spring. And we will likely drop 1.6 to 2.2 more feet. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ. We spent Sunday measuring under docks. It is very bad news. B dock is already starting to rise out of the water. C dock is also in very bad shape. IF YOU ARE ON C DOCK GET OFF NOW AND OVER TO D DOCK. But this is only a very temporary solution. D dock, which used to be our deepest dock, has more silting than we were hoping. Depths in D dock slips will hit 1.5 feet to 2.5 feet by late summer. That is not enough to sustain almost ANY of the boats. If you have a swing keel and you strap your keel in the UP position for the fall or winter you MIGHT be able to ride it out. BUT IF YOU HAVE A DRAFT OF OVER 2.2 FEET GET OUT NOW. E dock is in a tad better shape but not by much. The south basin is already too shallow to sustain boats anymore. Drafts over 3 feet are getting stuck back there. The south basin will be about 1 foot deep by late summer. If you have masts up and draw less than 3.5 feet you should be able to get to the mast crane slip. If you draw more than 3.5 feet you waited too long. You will have to figure out how to get your mast down in the slip. If you have a swing keel you may still be able to get to the launch ramp. If you are planning on using the launch ramp DO IT NOW! DO NOT WAIT ANY LONGER! AND PEASE REMEMBER THAT FALL/WINTER ARE WINDY TIMES AT THE GREAT SALT LAKE MARINA. DURING STRONG SOUTH WINDS THERE MAY BE NO WATER IN THE MARINA AT ALL. Time is running out FAST to get boats pulled. If you are anything but the shallowest of drafts it is not an option to leave your boats in the water. They must come out. I will be sending out an important update on CRANE Day later today. Dave
