GSL Slip Renters. The lake is definitely going down. We will see our lowest levels since 1963. We could see a lake level of 4192.7 This is not good news. Most of you will be trapped in the marina through the winter. And many of you will have your keels in the mud for much of the fall. The launch ramp will be unusable unless you have a very shallow draft or a swing keel. It is time for all of you to make your own decision. Your boats should do ok this fall with your keels in the mud. But many of you may not feel comfortable about that and will choose to pull out. On the good side is that NOAA is predicting that we will be in a wetter pattern this summer and fall. And the lake WILL come up some this winter and next spring. But it is far too early to know how much it will come up. For those of you that want to pull out with a crane while you still can we will have a Crane Day Monday, August 4th. This may possibly be the last crane day of the year. If you want to utilize this crane day please email me and reserve your crane spot now. I need to know who is planning on pulling out so that I can arrange for the smallest crane possible to keep costs down. Crane day by reservation only. Please let me know ASAP. For those that choose to stay in, your boat should ride out the low water ok. Dropping your mast can help to keep the boat from wanting to list in the mud. Removing as much weight from the boat will also help. Dave Shearer Harbor Master Great Salt Lake State Marina Antelope Island State Marina 801-209-9142
