GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users,

Tomorrow, Saturday the 8^th, there will be two large swim events at the Great Salt Lake Marina.

The first event is the One Mile Swim from the Great Salt Lake Marina to Black Rock.  This event should pose little problem for the boating community.  The swimmers will gather at the launch ramp around 8:30am and will swim out of the marina mouth to their start line just barely west of the marina for a 9am start.  Please realize that the marina mouth will be congested with swimmers from 8:45 until around 9:10am.  After that the swimmers should be well clear of any sailing area as they plan to swim over shallow reef towards Black Rock.

Please be aware that there may be a few swimmers that quit and may swim back through the mouth.  Keep a close look out for these swimmers.

The other event is the Open Water Swim.  This event is a long distance swim from the south tip of Antelope Island and finishes at Black Rock.  These swimmers should be out of the main boating area for most of the day but will cross in front of both the DEEP CHANNEL and REEF CHANNEL by early to mid afternoon.  Each swimmer will be followed by a kayaker so they should be fairly easy to spot.  But keep a close eye out for them.
