So the taxpayers should spend $7500 per boat so you can maintain your ability to sail this summer?? If it is so important to the users of this "public" facility (that has been put under lock and key), why don't you take up a collection or increase marina fees to cover your expenses??

Don't get me wrong, I love the lake and sailing. But the opportunity cost is too high. These funds could be better utilized elsewhere. Elsewhere includes leaving it in the peoples pockets so they can enjoy recreation in whatever form they choose. Maybe its time to invest in a shallow water sailboat instead of trying to steal from others to fund your hobby. Or, wait a year or two for the lake level to return.
