GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
IF YOU ARE NOT A RACER FEEL FREE TO DELETE THIS MESSAGE>
For those of you that are thinking of racing the Governor’s cup and would like to return to the traditional race where we raced from the GSL marina to the Antelope marina, I have been checking depths at the Antelope Marina and I think the race is doable.
There is one hump just outside the Antelope Island Marina entrance that is 6.8’ The rest of the area is nearly 8’
Inside the marina, if you favor the breakwater side as you approach the docks, the water is plenty deep.
The end ties of the first dock is about 8’
Most of the slips on the smaller east dock are 6.8’ to 6.1’ as you get closer to the parking lot.
We are likely going to drop about 0.4’ between now and the Governor’s cup. That will still leave enough depth for boats to utilize slips or anchor in the marina. It just depends on how many boats race and how many boats use the marina as a cruising base. The slips will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
Now it is up to you and the race chair to decide what you want to do.
