GSL Slip Renters.
The situation at the marina has mellowed out and the front has moved on.
There is SOME damage. The Marina team will assess the damage and email me tomorrow (I’m in Arizona). Once that is done I will get a storm damage report out. From the initial inspection tonight, there will not be a long damage report. It appears most boats weathered the storm. But there are a few that did not fare so well.
The most obvious and most serious damaged boat is the large motorboat on E dock. The upper structure is gone. I would recommend if you have a boat that was to the north or east of that boat, that you come and inspect your own boats for damage from projectiles (I got it right Bry).
There appears (remember I am in Arizona) that there are some small boats in dry storage that are over.
I will have a much more accurate list for all of you tomorrow evening. If I can I will contact boat owners with damage before that time as we learn about your boats.
But rest assured, very few of you will be hearing from us.
And please cooperate with the marina staff and rangers as they clean up some of the debris that may be a hazard. They have your safety as a priority. They will be inspecting boats, docks and other park areas for damage and safety. I request you give the marina staff until noon to go through the marina before venturing out. It is only a request. But it will help them to more quickly check for damage and make sure our docks and gangways are safe (I expect they will be).
And for those of you attending the GSLYC clinic tonight expecting a safety clinic from Ranger Rosell, we apologize. We had an unsafe situation at the marina. I requested that he stay there along with our other park ranger to secure a dangerous situation that had developed. We will work with the yacht club to try to reschedule this part of the clinic. Again, I apologize.
If you have specific questions, feel free to email. I will try to check them as often as I can
