Considering the multiple strong gusts that hit the marina since 7pm last night damage is quite light.  Two boats lost stands and I cannot believe either boat did not tip over.  In one case the boat lost all three forward stands and managed to stay upright.  We have walked the whole marina now and found that all the boats in the storage and parking lot rode through the 80 plus mph wind well.  There is one boat in the water that has its mainsail completely out.  This is a Hunter owned by Thompson.

We have put the stands back under the boats that lost them but the owners should come out and check them and secure them snugly with chain.  These two boats are:

“Breaking Wind” an O’Day normally located on I-04 owned by Johnston.

“French Roast” a Catalina 27 normally located on I-33 owned by Greiner.

There is a third boat that is both sitting on a trailer and has stands near the stern.  One of the stands fell down and the stand is bent up.  It could be that the stand was bent up before the wind.  The boat name is “Eagle”

We could not see any obvious damage to any other boats.  Most of the damage was to PARKS property and my property.

The gates to the park are now open again so, if you want to come out and check on your property, please feel free to come out now.

Thanks

Dave
