GSL Slip Renters.

What a great Reynolds Cup (80 Miler)!  We had six boats start and finish the race.  Conditions ranged from 40mph winds down to very light at times.  Currents played a significant role in the race at times.

The first boat finished at 3:31:48 this morning.  That was Hank Boland and crew on Empty Space with an elapsed time of 17 hours 31 minutes wining LINE HONORS.

KUTV did a great story on the race.  It is their featured story on their home page.  They did a great spot on how we were able to track the race the whole time from our lounge chairs, drinking hot toddies and having a great meal while the racers went from heavy spray to the nights cool conditions.

The racers had awesome conditions though. A fairly warm race with sunny skies during the day and a full moon at night.  I expect we will see some video soon.

I hope you all liked being able to track the race using the link we sent out.  I know we had more interest in this race than at any other time I can remember.  We had people following the race throughout Utah and other states including Louisiana, Washington and Idaho.

And now the very UNOFFICIAL results (do not count on these being official – I do not have access to the official scoring program)

1.     Hakuna Matata

2.    Eagle

3.    Empty Space

4.    Exodus

5.    Mercury Rising

6.    Crosswind.

(the results are based on the ISAF time-on-time formula and may not reflect the scoring dictated by the GSLYC)
