GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
This is an update on todays storm. I have no idea how the rest of the Wasatch Front faired with todays storm but the marina scored a direct hit all day. We spent 10 hours plowing snow and only started getting ahead this evening, But we are not done
We have much more plowing to do in the parking lot. We also have several snow mounds to move in order to reclaim the parking lot. We received a little over a foot of fairly wet snow. It is now subsiding but we expect more tonight.
But here is the real concern. The airport recorded record rain last night and this morning, So did the marina. We also recorded a record amount of snow for this date. That snow is now sitting on a sheet of ice from the rain. We feel confident we will clear the parking lot sometime tomorrow. But the docks and especially the gangways are very slick and should be considered dangerous. We already had one employee break an ankle out here today.
We prefer you do not come out tomorrow if you don't have to. It makes snowplowing and snow removal difficult when we have vehicles in the parking lot. If you do come out, please be cautious on the roads. Check in with us on where we would prefer you park so we can efficiently plow. And above everything else, be VERY CAREFUL on the gangways and docks.
We have checked the docks from the parking lots. All the boats seem fine at this time. we will check again in the morning. If we see a boat we are concerned with we will let you know ASAP.
We hope to have all this lake rising snow cleared up tomorrow night so we can have a great Bottom of the Pit party Saturday
Our internet is still out but I have a little more stable email through my Ipad now. if you have any questions, please feel free to email. I will respond as soon as possible
