** We’ll share the story of the now famous ship, the Mayflower, starting with seeing a professionally built model almost 6’ long and learn about her from a sailors point of view. Built to teach American history; we’ll learn all about the ship, the voyage
to bring settlers to the North American continent, and why this sailing ship is so significant to the founding of the United States.
About the Presenter
DeWitt Smith, is a life-long sailor and presents the Mayflower program to thousands of school children, families and adults each year, using the large scale model of the ship commissioned and owned by the Colonial Heritage Foundation of Provo, Utah to teach
American history. As a wooden boat restoration specialist, he brings a unique understanding of sailing her and of the ship herself.
