GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users.
There is significant damage to private property out
here. After reviewing both weather sources in the marina it appears our
top gust was about 95knots.
Before I begin listing damage I would just like to
say DOCK LINES! DOCK LINES! DOCK
LINES!
1. "Teralani" (Harwoods) Your jib cover has
been shredded and is now tangled in your rigging, mast head and in the rigging
of "Miss Behaving III"
2. "Lu Lu" (Brown) Your cover is
shredded and partially in the water.
3. "Salty Dog" (Spencer) your mainsail is out
of the cover.
4. "Extravigant" all your DOCK LINES
have broken and your boat is now jammed between the breakwater near the
parking lot and the first slip on C dock. The gallows hold your boom up
has broken. Your boom is now partially in the
water.
5. Any boat on the south side of B dock or
the north side of C dock will want to check their transoms for damage due to a
boat that broke away from its slip and drifted down the channel between these
two docks.
6. "Trilobite" (Crawford) your cover is
shredded and in the water. Mast is nearly in the water
7. "Wanabe" (Ward) your cover is shredded and in
the water.
8. Ron Lee. Your forward hatch has been
busted out. You are now taking rain and snow into your bow.
9. "Petulant Patte" (Hinkley) broken DOCK LINE
10. Jarod Willis. Shredded main sail and
cover.
11. "Eventually" (Roberts) broken
DOCK LINE
12. "Dawn Treader" (Larson) Solar panel
partially in the water.
13. Anne Roberts - I know you are out of town and I
just want to let you know your boat appears to be just fine
14. Harold James Kittel - I know you are out of
town and I just want to let you know your boat appears to be just
fine.
15. There are several power cords that are in the
water. due to marina policy and safety issues these cords will be
disconnected by tonight.
16. "Heron" (Remington) your boat is fine but your
christmas tree did not survive.
17. Chris Julian - your genoa is shredded.
Much of your standing rigging is unattached. Your boat is about to be
dismasted very soon. Boats around you are at risk to damage.
18. Bill Bauer - you have a broken DOCK LINE
19. "Irish Lady" you have a broken
DOCK LINE
20. K dock - Only dock with no damage reported
other than Rob Peterson - your kayak is in the water (I will try to secure it
when I can get to it).
21. Utah Crew/Waterford - Both your motor boats are
full of water. Your green boat is in jeopardy of sinking at the bow
soon.
22. "Lindsey" (Smith) - you have a brokein DOCK LINE
23. "French Roast" (Moss) main sail cover is
off.
24. Sue Chaffin (in Secured Dry Storage) your boat
is fine but your cover has come loose.
25. Eric Irvine - Mast has blown off the
stands
26. Pat Raymond - Mast has blown of the
stands
27. "Mistral" (Garcia) your boat has
twisted nearly hitting the Ericson 32. It has pushed another trailer into
Visina's trailer. It is now partially on top of the other trailer (no
serious damage seen though but it is a serious risk to the next wind
event).
28. Gabrial Benevides - your motorboat blew over
backwards and is now upside down on the ground. Your trailer is on its
side.
Just because your boat is not listed here does not
mean you have no damage. As I stated earlier I would recommend that if you
are south on B or north on C, check your transom for damage due to the boat that
broke loose. This is the damage I observed though.
Just one more time I would like to stress DOCK LINES! DOCK LINES! DOCK
LINES!
