GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users A significant storm is Barreling down on Great Salt Lake. This storm will be bring very strong winds and a potential for substantial rain and snow to our area. The current charts show strong gusts possible by 11am tomorrow followed by very strong winds beginning around 2pm and lasting until early Saturday morning. These winds have the potential to cause damage at the marina and is a significant risk to anyone boating on the Great Salt Lake. I anticipate we will be posting a "Storm Warning" or "Hurricane Force Warning" by tomorrow morning for the whole Great Salt Lake area. You may want to consider the strength of your dock lines; Whether your boat is secured and prepared for strong winds; Whether all items inside or outside your boat are secured. I am writing this in advance since anytime we receive significant wind or moisture at the marina it seems to have an impact on our power. I will keep you posted on this storm as it approaches and impacts the marina. Thank you Dave Shearer Harbormaster Great Salt Lake Marina
