GSL Slip Renters and Marina Users
Due to the scheduled GSLYC race tonight, I have had
a few requests for a weather update this afternoon.
Current Radar is showing an active cell system
approaching the lake from the West Desert. Radar is tracking three active
thunderstorm cells that should be crossing between Hat Island and GSL Marina
around 3:30pm this afternoon.
Another active wave of moisture will approach the
marina area around 6pm. It is too early to tell how much energy this
second wave will have but it covers a larger area than the 3:30pm
system.
Winds should not be significant with the 6pm wave
unless thunderstorm cells develop. If thunderstorm cells do develop this
afternoon it could bring strong downbursts and lightning.
The current forecast shows thunderstorms developing
in the Tooele Valley area around 7pm.
We will keep an eye on the radar watching whether
this second wave develops or weakens.
Thank you
