The National Weather Service has issued a HIGH WIND WATCH for the Great Salt Lake area. Very strong winds are expected Tuesday. A powerful cold front will track into western Utah Tuesday afternoon. NWS is forecasting 30 to 40mph winds with gusts in excess of 60mph late Tuesday morning into Tuesday afternoon . . . switching to the northwest 30 to 40mph with gusts in excess of 60mph late Tuesday afternoon through early evening. This will mean very strong winds on the lake itself with heavy seas 6 t0 8 feet on the lake. For the Great Salt Lake Marina area the gusts are likely to be intermittent but much stronger from the south with Tooele Twisters and gusts in excess of 75mph possible. Please make sure your boat is secure, that you have good dock lines. Make sure all sail and boat covers are secure and that all personal objects are secured or tied down.
