Dredging is going to last a bit longer.  They are expanding some of the dredging they are doing in the marina.  This is good as it will help on some slips and get some of the narrow embankments around the mouth taken away.

But the good news is that MOST of the restrictions or closures in the channel are over.  Sailors and rowers can now access the lake any time (with the exceptions of a few temporary closures being a possibility).

Please still call on VHF 16 to let the dredgers know you are leaving or coming back in but they should be out of your way now.

We will be realigning buoys in the channel to match where the new channel is.  AND . . . . the buoys are going away!!! They will be replaced by pilings with lights, markers on them.  This will be very nice as they will be permanent and won’t float away at the whim of a storm.

We plan to also add two more piling ATON markers between R2 and R4.  These will become the new R4 and G3 while the elbow buoy (the current R4) will become R6 and all the other pilings will be marked accordingly.  Pilings will also be added with green lights to mark the other side of the channel.

The Launch Ramp is still CLOSED through most of November.  We will not open the ramp until dredging is completed as the ramp is were the spoils are loaded onto the trucks for removal from the marina.

We are almost there!
