Make sure you always have spring lines in addition to your bow and stern mooring lines. Spring lines on both sides in ADDITION to your bow and stern lines. Or at a Minimum tight spring lines on the dock/pier mooring side along with your looser bow and stern

Always, always, always tight spring lines versus your bow and stern mooring lines. It’s just proper seamanship
