GSL/Antelope Island Slip Renters and Marina Users. An old nemesis has returned to the Great Salt Lake. The dreaded Dead Heads have returned. This is a tad unusual. We usually only see them during years where the water is rising. Not in years when the lake is dropping. These dead heads can pose a serious threat to a boat if you happen to hit one. So far the sighted Dead Heads are in the north of Gilbert and Carrington Bay. But they move with the storms. And three sightings in less than a week is a high count. Please, when you are sailing, keep a close watch for these hazards to navigation. Thanks Dave Dave Shearer Harbor Master Great Salt Lake State Marina Antelope Island State Marina 801-209-9142
